Personality;

The most visible thing about Mulcahy, and the single most important relationship in his life is his faith, and his relationship with God. He's a deeply spiritual man, a Jesuit, and it is the guiding light in his life.

He takes his duties as a priest seriously, seeing himself as responsible for the souls of his flock's, and gets remarkably upset if for any reason he can't minister to them. But, with the ever-practical man he is, he's happy to adapt to the needs of anyone who needs his support, especially in a time of war. He's made it his mission to learn basic prayers/comforts/rites in as many faiths as he can, as his ministry is more than just a simple parish. Just because he's a Catholic doesn't mean that anyone who needs help should be denied it.

He does believe his faith is the correct one, and can be quite forthright about it, but he also is willing to learn about other people's faith - hopefully something that will stand him in good stead when he is in Asgard. He will want to open a church, but make it a place of sanctuary for anyone who needs it.

In many ways, he's the product of his life choices. He's lived a sheltered life, and in many ways is a total innocent, especially when it comes to women (though he's also in part a product of his time in that respect). But there is the other side of him, the one who has seen the countless horrors that was can bring, and he's more worldly than most in that respect. He still manages to get up, do his job, and live his life, with a graceful smile on his face, and 'Onward Christian Soldiers' singing in his heart.

He's the kind of person who will do what is necessary to get things done. Dealing with the black market? Not a problem. Few can resist a priest. Bullying someone into making the right choice? He wields that cross like a weapon at times. He knows he's in a position of responsibility, and he uses it, but it is also for good - orphanages, medicine for the sick, etc. He also can be incredibly stubborn, especially when he thinks he is right, though he is always prepared to admit he is wrong graciously if need be.

He tries to be the calm, spiritual one, but he has got a temper (possibly the product of his upbringing again, as his father appears to have been borderline abusive), and it sometimes gets the better of him. He's contrite afterwards, often mortified that he has shown it, and it's a part of him he's never really gotten to terms with. Normally he lets any aggression out by teaching boxing (and by boxing a little himself), but he can get mightily frustrated with situations.

He is incredibly loyal to his friends. He doesn't care whether or not you are religious, but will care for you as if you were one of the souls in his care. He will stand up for them, and defend them, if he feels that they have been wronged in any way. Likewise he's equally likely to berate his friends if he feels they've gone too far, or need pulling out of their mood.

He does tend to get nervous on big occasions, much prefers being the simple, parish priest, helping people than being on display.

[The man who appears in front of you is obviously nervous, never having done anything like this before, and he took his hat off, screwing it up in his hands.]

Ah, good afternoon Asgard. I've been told this is the best way to reach as many of you as possible, so... here I am! [Nervous chuckle]

My name is Father Mulcahy. I understand that not all of you are Catholic, and obviously, that's your choice, but I'm here to offer you a Sanctuary. Somewhere quiet, where you can pray if you wish, think, just... somewhere to be. Of course, I can run services is people wish!

But in this time of war, moments of peace are to be cherished.
